In 1989 Early L. Trice, Jr. became a Teamster with Local 667 through employment at UPS.  He became a Union Steward in 1995 because he saw the need to stand with the membership.  He remains a Steward to this day continuing to be a voice for the membership.  He is also an organizer for Local 667, which gives him the opportunity to educate and unite the members and also educate non-union workers on the benefits of union jobs and contracts.

Early is active in the community as a member of the NAACP, Shelby County Democratic Party, North Shelby Democrats, LeMoyne-Owen College National Alumni Association, Hamilton High Alumni, the Central Labor Council of Memphis & West Tennessee and MICAH.

Early is an active member of Metropolitan Baptist Church where he serves on the Usher Board.

He and his wife, Melissa, have two sons and a daughter.
